Japan Muroran Institute Of Technology Uses Blockchain To Prevent Degree Fraud
According to Japanese financial news outlet Nikkei, Japan’s Muroran Institute of Technology and NTT West announced that they will support individuals to protect and proof their degree and academic background through blockchain technology.
Blockchain technology will be used to share records between multiple computers and connect and accumulate correct records while monitoring each other. Once a degree is registered, it is almost impossible to rewrite or to tamper.
To reduce the risk of information leakage, it also improves reliability by preventing fraud of educational background. The blockchain based education background check system will be extended to other universities in 2020.
